I know that entrepreneurs can be VERY impatient. They want something done now, not tomorrow. And one of the things they can want immediately is results and businessgrowth.
I’ve found that the most successful Gym Owners operate with a long-term mindset.A bad week or bad month doesn’t cause them to get emotional and hit the panic button. You see it in the stock market. When a company has a bad month or quarter, everyone will freak out and pull their investments.
However, if they chose the right investments, they would hold with that company for along time. That’s because they are thinking long term (retirement) and thinking about what they will make in 10, 20 or 40 years – not 10, 20 or 40 days.If you are operating with a short time horizon (30 days) then you are probably making the wrong decisions for your business. Think longer term and it will serve you well. For instance, I coach Gym Owners to LOCK IN with a 12 month mindset on sales.
Sales can change the game but people let go of membership sales far too quickly. I don’t recommend letting go of membership sales at your gym for at least the first 3 years. That’s because you have to put in the reps and build up your skills. That way you can coach and mentor the person who is going to take it off your plate.
That’s leading from the front!
Something you can do NOW that will have an immense impact on your business is to adopt the 12 month mindset. That means from today to one year from now you will focus on selling memberships. And not just passively selling to those who walk in. I’m talking SELLING HARD like you have a gun to your head.Call your leads and call them again. Ask every member for a referral. Post on social media daily. Go back and scrub through your inbox to a year ago and look for convos
that didn’t go anywhere. Invest in marketing so you can acquire new leads.
If you are confident in your ability to sell then investing your time and money willDOUBLE your speed of growth. It’s literally one of the best investments you can make as a Gym Owner but far too many choose to spend their money on equipment, another certification or something else that will never drive your business like sales and marketing.
Are you in it to win it?
Have you decided to lock in a 12 Month Mindset and grow your business?
