Good Morning!!
I wanted to start off by giving a shout out to Heather who is doing a fantastic job of documenting a “behind-the-scenes” look at her fitness journey. It makes you relatable and easy to connect with Heather!!
I also wanted to shout out Alex Keck (AK) for stepping into the Team Leader role so smoothly. You were born to sell and you are helping so many of our Challengers to make the decision to commit and invest into their health. It’s not easy since training with a Coach is something that people NEED not what they WANT. I know you will continue to drive culture and lead from the front. You rock Alex!! 🤘
Team, this week I wanted to talk about your personal core values.
– We have Company Core Values but what are the rules that you live by?
– What is your code that you upkeep no matter what?
– Where do you draw the line in the sand?
Everyone has their own and they are unique to your beliefs.
Here’s some of my personal rules….
- I don’t go longer than 48 hours without exercise
- I workout on every holiday…yes, I got an Easter pump 💪🐇
- I don’t drink alcohol…like ever.
- I must read at least one book per month
- I must create everyday – write, video, audio
- I must make one person smile everyday
- I must sell one thing per day
- I find a way to help another person everyday
Writing your personal rules is probably a great way to get to know yourself better. You probably have some but maybe you never committed them to paper to see how they look.
You don’t want to be the person floating through life allowing outside factors to create your rules. You need to make your own rules and bend the world to make them work around you.
Your personal rules will be tested. And that’s where people find out your TRUE CHARACTER.
Here’s an example…recently I had a Zoom Meeting with 3 team members and I was late. Like really late. As in, 15 minutes late. That is not acceptable and I’m not going to bore you with the reason behind it. But the entire time I knew I was breaking our Company Core Value of “Lead From The Front”. I can’t tell people to be on time but my 🍑 is late.
So, as soon as I jumped on Zoom, I apologized profusely to everyone and said “I owe you all a $5 late fee for not leading from the front. The gift card will be in your email later.”
That was a moment where I was being tested and I know I failed the test so I had to pay a fine.
Do you really believe what you say you believe?
Do you really do what you say you’re going to do?
The world is filled with too many empty promises, complaining that someone should do something but no one stepping up and taking action. Too much talking and not enough doing.
And it stems from people not having their own values and rules. If they valued their word, their actions and their beliefs they would step up more. They would own their own mistakes.
I want you to have the best life possible and the first place that all begins is you.
Create your personal rules that allow you to live your best life and stick to them no matter what.
Have a great day!!
